Study of Implementation of Education 4.0 at Management Institutes

The way we work is being permanently transformed by Industry 4.0, which means that employee training must also change in order to keep up. It is crucial to know how to train employees for this next generation of work, as they will need to be open to re-skilling, upskilling, and shifting to new roles within their industries. Shockingly, McKinsey and Company predicts that almost 51% of all jobs could be automated, which could lead to a significant level of unemployment if not addressed in time. This study aims to review the introduction of Education 4.0 in selected management institutes of various universities in Maharashtra, which have begun offering skill development programs in management education in the areas such as cyber security, marketing analytics, customer analytics, risk analytics, web analytics, human resource analytics, and SAP. These institutes have also started providing add-on certification programs in areas such as digital marketing, artificial intelligence, information security, cloud infrastructure, and blockchain, in order to bridge the gap between industry and academia. As industries adapt to Industry 4.0, educational institutes are also shifting towards Education 4.0 and delivering world-class learning and teaching to students. The research was based on data collected from management faculties teaching MBA from reputed universities in Maharashtra and aimed to understand how management education is evolving to adopt Education 4.0 and developing future-ready managers who can adapt to Industry 4.0.
